The University of Tampa – North Walker Hall

Similar to East Walker Hall, the renovation of North Walker Hall included a substantially redesigned floor plan. The existing interior walls were completely removed and remaining structural columns successfully integrated in the design. Efficient space planning provided new room for the Student Academic Success Center within the existing 10,900 SF and without compromising the original classroom or laboratory space.

The primary challenge of this project was the extremely compressed schedule for design, documentation and construction. Architectural services started in May followed by permit submittal on June 1st, and substantial completion and occupancy on August 5th, in time for the start of the fall semester 2013.

North Walker Hall now combines three critical support offices, Academic Advising, the Academic Center for Excellence and Student Success; where in the past students utilized three different buildings to access these services.
