Fab Lab is home to the University of Tampa’s visual arts program. The studios are located along the south portion of the Bailey Arts Studios. It was designed to be a collaborative studio where students can create virtually anything their minds can make up. The 10,000 square-foot entire renovated area is comprised of a variety of art studios: 3D print lab, digital art, graphic design, printmaking, photography and all their sub areas of study.
The design process covered not only the complexities of designing an environment suited for creativity, but also how to work around the large number of complex equipment, each with their own unique functional requirements. These equipment includes laser cutters, 3D printers, CNC routers, large format printers, vinyl cutters, and so on.
